New Quitline Available To Help Parents and Teenagers Quit Smoking

The free PA Quitline (877-724-1090) is a free telephone counseling service that provides smoking cessation assistance to callers. The PA Dept of Health and the American Cancer Society sponsor the program.

When a smoker calls the Quitline, a trained counselor sets up a series of 5 proactive telephone counseling appointments that last as long as 50 minutes each and provide the caller with useful tips and strategies for smoking cessation.

The Quitline is accessible 24 hourstday, 7 daystweek. Counseling sessions are scheduled between 7 am and 11 pm seven days a week.

The service is available in Spanish and other languages as requested.
